National footballer, Jobe Caesar, was yesterday remanded to prison, after charges of armed robbery and damage to property were brought against him at a city court.
Jobe Caesar, 19, on November 25, 2018, at 178 Albert and Charlotte streets, Georgetown, allegedly damaged a motor car valued $3.5 million, which belongs to Jennifer Validum. It is also alleged that on the same date and at the same place, while being armed with a gun, Caesar robbed Validum of her cellphone, valued $30,000.
Caesar, who was represented by attorney Paul Fung-A-Fat, pleaded not guilty to the charges, which were read to him by Magistrate Faith McGusty of the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
However, Police Prosecutor Seon Blackman, objected to bail being granted to Caesar on both charges, because a gun was reportedly involved in the alleged crimes.
Caesar still has an ongoing matter in court, which involves him allegedly wounding a police officer last year.
However, he was remanded yesterday and was told to return to court on January 30, 2019 for his next hearing.
