(Trinidad Express) A US citizen was robbed at gunpoint of over $7,000 in cash, jewellery and valuables in the car park of a mall on Wednesday.
The 34 year old woman was held up in a car park at the back of Gulf City Mall, La Romaine, police said.
A report stated that at 11.05 a.m. the woman was alone walking in the car park when she was approached by a man, who stuck the gun to her waist.
The assailant grabbed her purse, valued $100 US, which contained $3,000, and demanded her jewellery.
She handed over her gold earrings and bracelet valued $4,000.
The victim said she saw the thief and another man run out of the mall’s compound.
A report was made to the San Fernando CID and PC Khemraj is continuing investigations.
