If you would like to redesign your garden, but think you have too much concrete or limited
land space, there is a way to get creative, utilise the space you have available and improve your landscape.
Garden planters are the answer and they are so easy to build. They can be custom made in circles, rectangles, squares or triangles. If all you have is a tree, then you could surround it with boxes and fill them with colourful plants.
Once you have decided what you would like to do to change your landscape, then the next step would be to select your flowering plants and you have two choices.
You can choose annuals which would last approximately 3 to 4 months and then once they would have expired, you can clean out the planter and start all over again. This would be a good choice if you want to be very active in your gardening and would like to see changes every so often.
If that is not your style, then you should choose perennials which are long-lasting plants.
Either way, the results would be worth it. When your plants flower, they will attract birds, including hummingbirds. You will also see butterflies and bees among other plant visitors. Of course, you will need to discourage the harmful ones – the pests.
In addition, you will need to water the plants once a day and do regular maintenance to keep them free of weeds and in shape.
Until next week, Happy Gardening!
