National under-15 player, Isiah Thorne has received a pair of batting gloves from the Berbice Cricket Board as part of its ‘ball project.’
According to the BCB, Thorne is the quickest young seamer in the country and is poised to represent Guyana again this season. Thorne, the BCB noted, has shown significant improvement with the bat and shows the prospect of becoming a good all-rounder.
Alex Algoo, himself a national youth cricketer, speaking on behalf of the BCB said that he is very thankful to the board for giving himself and other young cricketers lots of opportunities to play cricket. He added that there are many competitions played with lots of emphasis on youth cricket. He encouraged Thorne to take his cricket seriously and strive for excellence and told him to train hard, be disciplined at all times and be committed.
