Chief Executive Officer of the National Industrial and Commercial Investments Limited Horace James has passed away.
A statement from the Ministry of the Presidency today said that President David Granger was saddened at the passing and expressed condolences to his family and friends.
The statement said that James, who was battling cancer, died this morning at his home in Linden.
The statement noted that James had also served as Head of the LINMINE Secretariat and CEO of the Linden Electricity Company.
Regret at James’ passing was also expressed by the Ministry of Natural Resources which said that the trained mining engineer served the sector for a number of years.
“He functioned as the Head of the Linmine Secretariat for 16 years as well as in numerous managerial positions in the bauxite plant in the capacities of senior engineer of the Bauxite Company. Mr. James had a wealth of knowledge on the history of Linden, and bauxite mining. It was his belief that there are numerous opportunities and scope for further development of the bauxite industry”, the ministry said.
