Title holders Guyana Jaguars have named a 13-member squad for their sixth round clash against Trinidad and Tobago Red Force in the Cricket West Indies Regional Four-day Championships with Chandrapaul Hemraj, Raymon Reifer and Vishaul Singh returning while Devendra Bishoo, Trevon Griffith and Keon Joseph have been omitted.
Hemraj, Reifer and Singh have been included in the side after playing for the Cricket West Indies President XI side which opposed England in two warm up matches prior to the start of the test series.
The squad, which departed Guyana for Trinidad Monday, was released by the Guyana Cricket Board yesterday.
The match will commence tomorrow at the Queen’s Park Oval.
With Griffith out of the squad, it is expected that Hemraj, 25, will open alongside Tagenarine Chanderpaul. Hemraj has featured in only one match of the tournament where he stroked an unbeaten 144 against Barbados.
He is one of three batsmen in the side, the others being Anthony Bramble and Chanderpaul, to score a ton in this season.
The 27-year-old Barbados-born Reifer has also only played one match, scoring a half century and taking a five-wicket haul with his left arm seam while Singh has shown consistency with two half centuries in four innings.
Jaguars, who have secured the title for the last four seasons are currently at the top of the table with four wins. Their only loss was at the hands of Leeward Islands Hurricanes in the fifth round at Providence Stadium.
Guyana are currently on 85.6 points, ahead of second placed Hurricanes (59.8 points) and Red Force (33 points) who are currently fifth in the six-team tournament.
