A total of 44 teams are set to take part in the first ever Berbice Cricket Board/Shimron Hetmyer Intermediate cricket tournament. The 50-overs knock out tournament is expected to get underway on February 3 across Berbice and will only feature players from that county.
According to Berbice Cricket Board President, Hilbert Foster a team will only be allowed four first division players, categorising the first division players as those who have played three 40-overs, 50-overs and Guyana Cricket Board Franchise matches in 2018-2019. First division players have also been extended to include under-19 players that represented the country.
Additionally, the teams will not be allowed more than two players of that category over the age of 23.
