Cricket administrators in the City have once again placed confidence in the leadership of former Guyana and West Indies all-rounder Roger Harper, electing him to head the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) for his fifth consecutive term on Tuesday evening at the Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and election of office-bearers at the Muslim Youth Organization (MYO) pavilion.
Harper, as he was in 2017, was uncontested for the post of President and will continue to lead the association for the next two years.
Not surprisingly, Harper’s two deputies Neil Barry and Azad Ibrahim were returned as first and second vice-presidents respectively. Under the theme of continuity, it appeared as if the remainder of the committee remained intact and will feature the return of Deborah McNichol (Secretary), Paul Castello (Assistant Secretary), Colin Alfred (Public Relations Officer), and Shawn Massiah (Chairman of the Competitions Committee).
