Courts Optical Brand on Main Street on Wednesday awarded four lucky customers with new spectacles and the benefit of eye testing, all of which will be free of cost for the rest of their lives.
At the presentation, which was held at the Courts’ Main Street branch, the four winners, Rosiene Thomas, Lilawattie Lochan, Marcia Grannum and Lorlene Layne-Price, each expressed excitement at this once-in-a-lifetime offer.
It was related that the promotion was done at every Courts Optical branch in Guyana.
The overjoyed Thomas, told Stabroek News that this opportunity lifted a financial strain from her shoulders, as the money she usually spends on spectacles will now aid her in buying much needed articles for her children. Grannum related she had never won anything before and she is especially happy because spectacles are so costly. Layne-Price, a supervisor at the Guyana Revenue Authority, said that she has been a customer at Courts for over 15 years and a customer of Courts Optical since it was launched in 2015, and is pleased to be rewarded in this way.
In addition to receiving a free pair of spectacles every two years, along with free eye testing, the winners will also have the privilege of receiving the first class service available at Courts Optical.
When asked how the winners were selected, Digital Marketing Officer, Roberta Ferguson, said that customers of Courts Optical Brand were given coupons to fill out, after which they placed the coupon into a box located in the store. After the promotion ended, under the watchful eyes of the external auditors and Internal Control Department, the winners were randomly hand-picked from the box after it was shaken.
Ferguson further said that a similar promotion had been done last year and the possibility exists that it can be done annually, considering they have been getting a lot of positive feedback from their customers.
