(Trinidad Guardian) Tobago police are probing the circumstances surrounding the killing of Anderson Baboonanan.
Police said Baboonanan, 32, of South Oropouche, was stabbed to death during an altercation with a close female friend early Friday morning.
A 25-year-old woman is said to be in police custody in connection with the alleged crime.
According to police reports, the incident occurred shortly after 12 am at Lowlands, near the Gulf City Mall. Guardian Media was told that Baboonanan was driving along the Claude Noel Highway when he had a domestic dispute with the woman. Baboonanan was reportedly stabbed several times about his neck and body by the woman during the altercation. He was rushed to the Scarborough General Hospital via an EHS ambulance for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.
An autopsy is scheduled to be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
The woman, who is also from South, Trinidad, celebrated her birthday on Thursday. She is said to be assisting police with their investigation.
This brings Tobago murder toll to two for 2019.
