The Dusky-throated Antshrike (Thamnomanes ardesiacus) is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela.
The plumage in both sexes of Dusky-throated Antshrike is very nondescript. The male is almost entirely gray, although in many individuals there is a small patch of black on the throat (the dusky throat), while females are dull brown.
It typically forages in the forest, perching upright and sallying forth for insect prey.
