Cameron wants ICC over-rate rule ‘modified’

ST JOHN’S, Antigua, CMC – Cricket West Indies president, Dave Cameron, believes the time has come to “modify” the ICC’s controversial over-rate rule, in the wake of the suspension of West Indies captain, Jason Holder, for next weekend’s third Test against England.

Justifying anything these days

A few weeks ago, the Speaker of the National Assembly rejected the request by the APNU+AFC caretaker government that he should overturn the no-confidence vote that had gone against it some days before on the ludicrous grounds that 33 is half of 65 and that thus 34 is required for a majority.

Turning point

Last Saturday a rare celebration occurred at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua as the West Indies won the Second Test match versus England inside of three days to take an unassailable 2 – 0 lead and regain the Wisden Trophy for the first time in ten years.  The subsequent suspension of the victorious West Indies Captain, Jason Holder, for one Test match by the ICC, for the slow over rate, has been a bitter pill for West Indian fans to swallow whilst basking in the memories of the series clincher.
