Linden children’s Mash: Over the last week, the mining town of Linden saw vibrant displays as part of the Children’s Mash Costume Competition.
The Department of Public Information (DPI) said that some of the schools that emerged winners were Watooka Day Primary in the 5 to 7 dance group segment. Amelia’s Ward Primary topped the 8 to 10 masquerade band competition, while the Linden Foundation won the 11 to 13 segment.
In the physical display segment, Regma Primary was the champion in the 6 to 11 age group, while One Mile Primary emerged the winner in the 8 to 10 dance segment. In the skip-be-fit competition, the Mackenzie High School carted off the winning trophy as well as the Physical Display 12 to 17 combination, according to DPI.
The Linden Special Needs School also captivated the crowd with their electrifying dance moves. The winning schools will represent Region Ten at the national competition which will be held at the National Cultural Centre in Georgetown.
