Banks DIH Limited yesterday welcomed the UniCarriers Forklift brand to Guyana as it launched a local dealership just opposite its Thirst Park headquarters at Ruimveldt.
With the new dealership, persons here will have access to UniCarriers products that includes electrical forklift trucks, electrical narrow aisle trucks, electrical pallet trucks and starters, internal combustion engine trucks and LPS forklift trucks.
Chairman of Banks DIH Clifford Reis, in brief remarks at the launch yesterday said, “This undertaking represents the beginning of a process of diversifying our company’s business model which are a part of our plans for the future to respond to the challenges the 21 century’s business environment will present us.”
Commenting on the brand itself, Reis reported that the company, which depends heavily on machines of this kind, has found favour with UniCarriers as it has given Banks the greatest satisfaction thus far.
“Over the years of our operations within the various departments of our company, we have had to utilise lift trucks to perform heavy lifting tasks within the respective areas. We have acquired these trucks through various suppliers with a mixed response to their respective performances and I can say without fear of contradiction that our greatest satisfaction came from the relations we began with UniCarriers America and the acquisition of UniCarriers brand of lift trucks,” the chairman said.
Businesswise, Reis endorsed the culture of its new business partner saying, “In business, it takes two hands to clap and sometimes it is not the financial number we look at but the culture of the two companies and I think that is what makes companies successful in their business.”
Meanwhile, UniCarriers’ Director of Sales for Latin America, Eduardo Torres, who attended the launching ceremony, extended gratitude to those who made the partnership a reality.
He, too, sought to highlight the importance of a company’s business culture, while noting that Banks has proven itself to have values that are appreciated by UniCarriers.
“UniCarriers is very, very careful when we select a business partner but, in this case, we are so confident that we are choosing one of the best companies in Guyana; a company with good values and good reputation…,” Torres said.
“We are confident that together, we can achieve the best of the best results not only in Guyana, but we are also thinking to explore new territories in Latin America,” he added.
