(Trinidad Express) A man who gang members accused of being an “informant” was shot dead in the living room of his Sea Lots, Port of Spain home yesterday morning.
Police said that around 10.30 a.m. Nigel Francisco, who worked as a security officer with a Sea Lots security firm was at his Pioneer Drive, Sea Lots home when his neighbours heard eight gunshots.
Francisco, 52, was found dead in his living room.
Police said that on Monday night six of his relatives moved out the area when they had started receiving threats from a group of young men in the community who accused some of them of telling the police about illegal activities in the area.
It is not known if Francisco had refused to take the threats seriously or was about to move out when he was ambushed.
Visiting the scene were officers of the Besson Street CID, Port of Spain CID, the Inter Agency Task Force, Crime Scene Unit and the Los Angeles Police Department.
Francisco’s body was moved to the Port of Spain mortuary around 1.30 p.m.
