FC Eagles of West Demerara was crowned the inaugural Frank Watson Memorial U15 National champions following convincing wins yesterday at the National Training Centre, Leonora.
Eagles mauled Rising Stars of Bartica 2-0. Telbert Baptiste bagged a double in the 29th and 39th minute. Similarly, FC Eagles crushed Tabatinga 3-0.
Jomaley Kellman bagged a double in the seventh and 12th minute, with Francis Persaud sealing the win in the 16th minute.
In other results, Santos and Rising Stars played a 1-1 stalemate. Clevon Murray netted for Rising Star in the 15th minute, while Carlos Agard equalised in the 27th minute.
Also, Santos downed Tabatinga 4-1. Rahil Gittens, Darren Niles, Kevin Mullin and Miguel Stoll scored in the first, 23rd, 31st and 34th minute respectively.
For the losers, Travis Grimmond netted in the 39th minute. Tabatinga and Rising Star played to a scoreless draw.
