The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) has named its 14-member squad to participate in the Guyana Cricket Board Inter-County Under-15 tournament scheduled to commence next week.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the BCB, Simon Naidu, Isai Thorne has been named captain of the side.
Thorne, a fast bowling all-rounder had featured in the Guyana U15 side last year while Rampertab Ramnauth, who has experience at Inter-County level will serve as his deputy.
Matthew Pottaya and Tameshwar Mahadeo are the only other players with Inter-County experience in the side.
The BCB had begun preparation for this tournament since 2018 with a squad of 21 players being selected early in January where they participated in practice matches and trials.
Eventually the squad was trimmed to 14 members after a session with level three coaches, Winston Smith and Julian Moore.
The BCB has also listed six standbys in Budhram Lakeram, Satya France, Sanjay Algoo, Kumar Deopersaud and Romeo Deonarain.
The BCB U15 side reads: Isai Thorne (captain), Rampertab Ramnauth (vice-captain), Avihkar Persaud, Christopher Deroop, Tameshwar Mahadeo, Kelvin Samuels, Mark Ramalho, Damion Cecil, Ravishkar Sobhai, Tuvraj Shaundeo, Salim Khan, Matthew Pottaya, Bashkar Dhanai, Niquan Samuels, Leslie Solomon (coach), Lakeram Latchman (Manager).
