For the longest while we have been noticing very little activity on the repair of our roads in Georgetown and I wonder whether the politicians in Government do not think they should pay some attention to the repairs especially by filling the holes which are causing much damage to vehicles. Sometimes I wonder why the relevant Departments of Government do not themselves see what is necessary to be done and just do it rather than waiting for letters to the press as reminders, and even so we hardly get any attention to these reminders. I would take it that this is a good time for them to take action especially now that they are seeking our votes to continue to govern.
Another important service is traffic lights. We need about three times more the number of lights we have but even those we presently have are not functioning. I do not know if the recent Budget passed provides for this important item of traffic control. The City, because of its very narrow turns from one street to the other makes it impossible at times to see the criss-crossing of traffic and this causes many accidents and more especially vehicles are allowed to park very near to each corner and especially when they are allowed to park on the wrong side of the road.
Some of the necessary traffic humps, although a good thing, are being made too high and are destroying most of the oil containers below Japanese cars. Would someone please look into this and help motorists to keep their cars in good condition.
Why do we have to keep complaining about these necessary services to be rendered? They are so many which would all help to have confidence and to keep a government in power. Please remember every little thing counts.
There is so much dissatisfaction and if half of these problems are attended to how great a country we could be. Please Mr. Government do not remain aloof from the people’s needs, thank you very much.
