Impact Promotional Models agency put on its very first fashion show and mini expo recently before a small audience in the hall of GT Motor Sports where some of the sassiest and up-styled, off-the-rack international designer brands as well as Victoria’s Secret lingerie were displayed.

CEO of the agency, 24-year-old Merecia Phillips collaborated with Elaine Fashion and Lingerie Wear and used the opportunity to promote her models.

Ten models displayed dressed-down casuals along with beach wear and the highlight of the evening, alluring lingerie. Most of the pieces displayed were red and/or white as it was close to Valentine’s Day.

Merecia said that though the event was not as well attended as they would have liked, she is certain that the show which is expected to become an annual event will attract bigger crowds in the years ahead. She is making plans to have young local designers involved in next year’s show.

Speaking about Impact Promotional Models Merecia said, “[This] agency is a forthcoming one that will strive to empower young women, promote self-confidence, good interpersonal skills and self-awareness….” While she is all about promoting her models locally, she also hopes to sign on with international companies in the near future.

The show was hosted by Merecia’s sister Odeen. Just recently, the women dealt with the loss of their father, local famed sculptor Marvin Robert Phillips.

Impact Promotional Models was launched last year at Mashramani. The agency also opened the parade for the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and will be doing so again this year.
