The National Insurance Scheme (NIS) is seeking to have surveillance cameras installed at its offices countrywide.
In an advertisement in the Sunday Stabroek yesterday, companies were invited to indicate their interest in supplying and installing CCTV cameras to all offices of the NIS.
Interested contractors are asked to submit proposals with information demonstrating that they have the “required qualifications and relevant experience to undertake and deliver Grade 1 quality and efficient services with a team of qualified and experienced key personnel.”
According to the advertisement, prospective firms must have a minimum of eight years’ experience with a creditable track record.
In addition, they must submit a comprehensive company profile, a list of key personnel and a list of completed projects executed during the last five years, among other requirements. A list of clients’ names and contact number must also be submitted.
The companies are also asked to provide a “statement of availability to work across the country, willingness to fulfill security protocols, work within a limited time frame inclusive of weekends and nights.”
All submissions of expression of interest are to be deposited into the tender box at the administrative department of the NIS at Camp and Bent Streets, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown on or before March 15, 2019.
The proposed upgrade to the security measures comes at a time when several of the NIS’ offices have been robbed.
The NIS office at Melanie Damishana, East Coast Demerara was the most recent case with a robbery there last month. The bandits carted off a metal safe containing $600,000.
