On the recent internet ‘town-hall’ session hosted by Sasenarine Singh, Mr. Khemraj Ramjattan again labelled Mr. Charrandass Persaud as “Judas”, for voting the way he did on Dec. 21, 2018. But as one of the questioners pointed out, who is the real Judas in the drama that is being played out?
Dr. Ramayya pointed out that some of the AFC stalwarts such as Hughes, Nagamootoo, and Ramjattan were on his TV show and vowed not to “join hands” with the PPP or the PNC. The Guyanese people were given the clear impression that this new political body (AFC) would stand on its own and not be entangled with any of the traditional dinosaurs in the country. Consequently, people gave their time, resources, and money with this promise in mind. But look what has happened over the last few months – the AFC and the PNC have become indistinguishable – except for the colours of their T-shirts!
The people of Guyana have experienced a deep sense of betrayal by the AFC.
The real Judas in this political arena should be called out and vilified for their deception, their flagrant defiance of the hallowed document of the land, and for siding with those who vie for power at any cost.
