The Breakthrough Ministries presents a grand concert dubbed ‘After Mash’ this evening at the World Vision New Testament Church of God. The concert will see a number of live performances from some of their finest gospel singers around Guyana.
“Just as Mashramani means ‘Celebration after hard work’, we too will be celebrating but we are celebrating in a way that pleases God. We want to use this opportunity to acknowledge God’s grace and we want to do this in an atmosphere that represents sacredness like God does, the reason for choosing the church as our venue. In addition to this we are looking to promote unity as a people in a Godly way,” singer/composer/promoter Ryan Patterson shared.
The group is hoping to create a fan base for the singers and for the kind of music being presented. They are looking to also create a space that encourages young, up and coming Christian singers to share their talent. Breakthrough Ministries is anticipating that this opportunity will aid singers in pursuing a career in music that provides an income for them instead of them sharing their talent for free.
This is the fifth production of Breakthrough Ministries and is one of the most anticipated gospel concerts.
The songs presented are all gospel, infused with soca, reggae, afro crossovers, soul and R&B.
Apart from wanting to promote unity and music, the team will also be presenting other talents such as dance by various groups within the church, a poem that was written by one of their very own currently at the University of Guyana. The audience will also be treated to the talent of Guyanese designer Habibah Akilah Atherley who will showcase her Savannah collection. Savannah comprises African prints as well as a few English contemporary pieces, all suitable for church and other formal events. The collection caters for both men and women.
Those performing include Terrand London, The Apostle, Meadow Bank Kingdom Empowerment Dancers, Dominion Dancers, Prophetic Voice, Mariah Collimore and Ryan himself along with many others.
While there, persons can purchase their desired gospel CDs. Refreshments will also be on sale. Tickets cost $700 and interested persons can contact the members of Breakthrough Ministries on their Facebook page.
The After-Mash Concert starts at 7 pm. However, the
praise and worship session begins at 6:30. There will be special giveaways for the early birds.
