Shaquille Duncan, who was reportedly shot by his accomplice after robbing a man of a gold chain, appeared before a city court yesterday on another armed robbery charge involving the theft of another gold chain.
The charge was read by Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
It was alleged that on February 1st, 2019, at Mandela Avenue, Georgetown, while being armed with a gun, Duncan robbed Morris Enmore of a gold chain, valued $100,000.
Duncan, 25, pleaded not guilty to the charge and Prosecutor Quinn Harris objected to bail, citing the seriousness and prevalence of the offence.
Bail was subsequently refused as Duncan is currently on remand for another armed robbery offence.
The matter was adjourned until March 18th, 2019.
The previous armed robbery charge alleged that on February 5th, at Mandela Avenue, in the company of another, while being armed with a gun, Duncan robbed Steve Munroe of a gold chain, valued $360,000.
Duncan was caught by public-spirited persons after being accidently shot by his accomplice, while attempting to escape the robbery scene.
