A Linden vendor is currently nursing gunshot wounds to his feet after he was attacked yesterday morning by a man with whom his brother had a misunderstanding on Sunday during the Linden Mashramani celebrations.
Injured is Marvin Somersoll, 28, of Lot 67 ‘Z’ Wismar Housing Scheme, Linden.
The incident occurred around 9 am yesterday, when Somersoll was shot twice to his feet.
He was taken to the Linden Hospital, where he is currently admitted as a patient and his condition is listed a stable.
The suspect, who is known as “Spoil Child,” fled and was being sought by police up to last evening.
Stabroek News was told by a source that the shooting had its genesis in a misunderstanding between Somersoll’s teenager brother and the suspect on Sunday.
Somersoll’s brother was allegedly beaten by the suspect, who on Monday went to the vendor’s house in search of the youth.
Somersoll then reportedly asked the suspect what was the problem between him and his brother, leading to an argument. The suspect later left.
However, the suspect returned yesterday morning while Somersoll was washing in his yard and reportedly whipped out two guns and shot at him before fleeing.
