Defending champion F-Division-A, Sports, A-Division-A, Presidential Guard and Special Branch/Immigration-[2] recorded wins when the Guyana Police Force [GPF] Inter-Division/Branch 5-Aside Football Championship continued on Tuesday.
Staged at the Eve Leary ground, F-Division-A made light work of E-Division, winning by a 2-0 score. Recording identical victories were Sports and A-Division-A. Sports arrested Traffic HQ, while A-Division-A brushed aside Felix Austin-A.
On other hand, Presidential Guard battled past C-Division 1-0, while Special Branch/Immigration-[2] got the better of E-Division by a 1-0 score line.
Similarly, Finance out-hustled Transport 1-0, while F-Division-B squeaked past B-Division 1-0 and A-Division-B needled Immigration 1-0. Also, Mounted Branch got the better of Felix Austin-B 1-0
The tournament continued yesteray at the same venue with another round of group matches.
Winner of the event will pocket $100,000 and the championship trophy. The runner-up and third place finisher will pocket $50,000 and $25,000 respectively and the corresponding accolade.
The Best Dressed Team will also receive $10,000. On the individual side, the Most Valuable Player [MVP] will receive $10,000, with the Highest Goal Scorer also walking away with $10,000.
