Dear Editor,
I would like to express appreciation to the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Bharrat Jagdeo for taking my advice and that of others to attend the meeting with President Granger on Wednesday 6th March. Our country is in a very difficult position and it is extremely important that our two leaders try as far as possible, to maintain internal stability. This is where country must be more important than party politics.
We do understand that both the Government and Opposition are working hard to think this situation through and process and examine it from all angles, as well as explore all options but they must remember that timing and impact has to also be considered.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you, to the countless persons who contacted me, either to express their opinions, encouraged or agreed with the contents in my last letter on 5 March, which stated that the President should set a date for elections since he is losing critical support.
Well done to our two leaders! Keep the conversation going!
Yours faithfully,
Audreyanna Thomas
