Defending champions, the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC), will begin their title defence when the 2019 GISE, Star Party Rental and Trophy Stall first-division two-day competition continues today.
The Queenstown Club, in their season opener, will host the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) in what is expected to be the weekend’s headline fixture.
Meanwhile, the other first- division fixtures will see the University of Guyana (UG) coming up against the Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) at GDF while the Transport Sports Club (TSC) and GNIC will battle at the Malteenoes Sports Club ground.
Last week’s winner’s Police will also come into action and will visit the Everest Cricket Club ground to clash with the host. Play will commence from 9:30hrs.
Meanwhile, action in the Noble House Seafoods second division, two-day competition will see matches between TSC and UG at GNIC; the Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) and GYO at MYO and the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) hosting MSC. Those matched bowl off from 11:00hrs.
Today will also feature one under – 19 fixture which will involve Eco Champs and Queen’s College going up against each other.
