The Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) on Saturday last held its annual awards ceremony at the GuySuCo Apprentice Hostel.
Taking away the top prizes were Shemroy Ross and Philana Simpson who were adjudged the male and female players of the year, 2018.
Meanwhile, Male Club Champion of the year went to PMTC1 and the female equivalent went to Corriverton Jets.
The Champion ‘B’ division team of 2018 went to No.47 Challengers.
In the other awards, Andy Rohoman captured the Youth Player of the Year Award while the sponsor of the year award went to Spreadys Bakery.
The ceremony, which commenced from 15:00, was chaired by Linden Murray, while acting BVA president Errol Fingall, presented the annual review.
Charges were delivered by guest speakers Levi Nedd, President of the Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) and Gregory Rambarran, patron of the BVA.
The ceremony was also used as a platform to highlight the efforts of the National Sports Commission (NSC) for its sterling support towards the sustenance of volleyball in Berbice and for the donation of trophies for the function.
