(Trinidad Express) Attorney General Faris al-Rawi has revealed that taxpayers have spent over half a billion dollars in pursuit of criminal investigations and litigation resulting from the collapse of CLICO.
He stressed on Friday that the conduct of this matter lies squarely in the domain of the Director of Public Prosecutions whom the Government expects to act “with alacrity.”
The CLICO collapse took place in January 2009.
The Attorney General was responding to a question from Oropouche East MP Dr Roodal Moonilal in the House of Representatives in Port of Spain on Friday.
