Dear Editor,
Forty-four British Guianese were on the SS Windrush in 1948. What happened to their dependents in the ‘Motherland’? Did they face a hostile Home Office and citizenship problems as so many of the Jamaicans on that boat did?
The Windrush Generation scandal is still reverberating around the UK a year after it emerged from the dusty archives. It deserves to.
Did you or any of your relatives in the UK suffer? Contact me with their/your stories: johnmair100@hotmail.com
Yours faithfully,
John ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’ Mair
