Top local badminton player Narayan Ramdhani continued his excellent season, copping a gold in the team event and a bronze medal in singles at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA National Badminton Championships at Dalhousie Agricultural Campus, Nova Scotia, Canada last week.
Ramdhani, playing for Kings University Eagles Badminton team won three out of five matches in the round robin stage to advance to the semifinals of the men’s singles where he lost to nemesis Concordia’s Nicholas Pitman 21-17, 21-23, 21-12.
He bounced back to beat Yuge Zeng 21-15, 21-13 in the third place playoff and walk away with the bronze.
Ramdhani also did well in the Team Championship when his Men Singles match was the deciding match to win the gold. He beat Ramnish Kumar of Humber College: 13-21, 16, 21, 21-11.
