(Trinidad Express) A MAN charged with harassment after he allegedly posted a video on the internet, was ordered, as a condition of his bail, to have no contact with the alleged victim on social media.
Kerron Williams, 31, of Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas, appeared before Magistrate Aden Stroude yesterday. He was charged that on February 25 and also in January of this year, he engaged in making visual recordings and verbal gestures via computer posts and contact via telephone posts to the harassment of Anthony Dass.
The charge was laid by Constable Harrinanan. Williams, a chutney artiste known as “Wackerman”, said he was not guilty of the offences. He was represented by attorney Shiva Boodoo who asked for disclosure from the police of the video recording allegedly made by his client. The defence attorney also petitioned the court for reasonable bail for the father of one.
Boodoo said Williams had one previous conviction where he was fined for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Williams also faced Magistrate Stroude for missing his court date for using threatening language against Dass in the past. Boodoo said a medical certificate is expected to be presented concerning this at Williams’ next court appearance.
Police prosecutor Sgt Rosan made no objection to Williams being placed on bail but asked that conditions be imposed.
Stroude placed him on $30,000 bail with the condition that he has no contact directly or indirectly with the alleged victim through texting, messaging or social media.
He is also to stay 100 feet away from the alleged victim.
For the matter in which he missed his court date, Williams was placed on $5,000 bail.
He will return to court on November 6.
