A total of four venues will be used when Guyana hosts the 2019 Cricket West Indies Senior Regional Female 50-overs tournament while the National Stadium, Providence will be the lone venue for the T20 Blaze.
According to the fixtures seen by this publication, Enmore Community Center, Everest Cricket Club and Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) will be the other three venues to host the 50-overs version.
The six-team tournament is set to get underway from Sunday with teams arriving from Thursday for the official opening Saturday.
While the 50-over matches will be played every other day, the T20 format will feature three matches per day beginning from 09.00hrs, similar to the format used in the International Cricket Council’s Women’s World T20.
The hosts will open their 50 over title hunt against Trinidad and Tobago at Providence (March 17) before taking on Jamaica at Everest (March 19), Leeward Islands at Enmore (March 21), Barbados at Providence (March 23) and Windward Islands at GCC (March 25).
In the T20 tournament, Guyana will play Barbados at 19.00 hrs on March 28 before playing Leewards the following day at 14.00 hrs.
The tournament will take a day’s rest and when it resumes on March 31, Jamaica and Guyana will clash from 09.00 hrs.
Heading into the back end of the competition Guyana will face Windards (19.00 hrs) and Trinidad (14.00 hrs) on April 3 and 4 respectively.
