Guyana have been edged out of making the main-draw at the World Junior Lawn Tennis U–14 championships in the Dominican Republic.
The Guyanese contingent, comprising Vaedenand Resaul, Nigel Lowe, and Wayne Baker, won just one of their three matches which prevented the locals from advancing.
Results emanating from the championships show that the Guyanese trio defeated Barbados 2-1 to begin the competition on a winning note.
They, however, dropped the next two matches against the host and Jamaica both by 0-3 score lines, failing to advance to the main drawn.
Resaul, Lowe and Baker will now play for positions 9-16 in today’s encounters.
