The Guyana Football Federation has officially announced their 18-member squad for the international friendly against arch-nemesis Suriname which begins from 16:30hrs tomorrow at the Pierkhan Stadium, Nickerie.
The squad, which comprises predominantly local players, includes goalkeepers Alex Murray, Akel Clarke, defenders Sherwin Skeete, Walter Moore, Kevin Layne Jr, Quincy Adams, Solomon Austin, William Europe, midfielders Trayon Bobb, Leo Lovell, Clive Nobrega, Vurlon Mills, Pernel Shultz, Kelsey Benjamin and forwards Gregory Richardson, Dellon Lanferman, Delroy Fraser and Sheldon Holder.
Among the notable exclusions from the playing roster are Daniel Wilson and Anthony Belfield.
On the management side, Michael Johnson will serve in his familiar role as Head Coach, with Charles Pollard and Eon DeVeira serving as Assistant Coach and Goalkeeping Coach respectively.
Meanwhile, Dr Kojo Sandiford and Quacy Paddy are the Team Doctor and Physiotherapist respectively, with Wilson Toledo and Faizal serving as the Head of Sports Science and Head of Recruitment respectively.
Similarly, long-serving Operations Manager Rawle Adams will continue in his role, while Trevor Burnett and Levi Brathwaite will serve as Equipment Manager and Assistant Equipment Manager respectively.
The match will serve as preparation for Guyana’s must win clash with 13th placed Belize at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora in the CONCACAF Nations League on March 23rd.
Victory for the local side would effectively clinch their maiden 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup berth. Guyana currently sits in 8th place with six points.
