The Guyana Conference of Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Youth Ministries Department in association with the Adventist youths of Georgetown and other religious bodies present the ‘Pass It On’ Benefit Concert next Saturday night March 23, at the Ashton Alleyne Memorial Ground.
The artistes that will be performing include: Samuel Medas, Trizanna Atkins, Earl Bishop, Taianna Cox, The Messengers, Nickella Moses, Frank Hoppie and many others. Proceeds from the concert will go towards the development of the community centre ground.
Youth Ministries Director Marvyn Smith said, “Families will be able to access an area for recreation; it is a very important component of family development and sometimes we shun or overlook it. Everybody might not want to go all the way to the National Park. I believe that this ground, once organized, will help to combat a lot of social ills that we experience. Sports is a positive outlet. I, myself, grew up opposite a play field and I’m happy that my community afforded the opportunity for an outlet and now this is a perfect opportunity to collaborate to ensure that this is done for persons in the D’Urban Backlands Community.”
