No resolution to elections deadline seen -Jagdeo

With the constitutional deadline to hold elections following the December 21 passage of a no-confidence motion against the government expiring at the end of Thursday, Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo does not foresee a resolution for which he blames President David Granger.

(Reuters) – On the first leg of his Caribbean tour, Britain’s Prince Charles touted a “vital blue economy,” built on sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth, as part of the solution to climate change, noting that rising sea levels represent an especially severe threat to nearby island nations.

As the no-confidence motion clock runs down towards the end of the three-month period for the staging of general elections, there has been a flurry of accusations back and forth between President Granger and Opposition Leader Jagdeo about who is responsible for the present deadlock.
