(Jamaica Observer) Five motor vehicles belonging to patrons who attended Buju Banton’s Long Walk to Freedom concert at the National Stadium on Saturday were stolen outside the venue, while another was broken into and personal items stolen from it.
The constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) said none of the incidents took place at the designated car parks at Heroes Park or at the National Stadium.
Two of the vehicles have since been recovered, the police said.
The theft has prompted an appeal from the lawmen for motorists to always utilise designated car parks when attending any event in order to lower the risks of theft or damage to their vehicles and its contents.
Meanwhile, the police are appealing to anyone with information that may assist in their investigation to contact the Stadium police at 876-946-1831, police emergency 119 numbers or the nearest police station.
