Den Amstel commenced the Guyana Football Federation [GFF] 2019 season in the perfect manner, thrashing Ann’s Grove 5-0 yesterday at the Den Amstel ground.
Delon Lanferman was the agent of doom for the visitors, as he fashioned a hat-trick. Lanferman, a Golden Jaguars international, smashed two goals in the space of 11 minutes to effectively end the contest.
The aggressive forward opened his account with a 15th minute conversion, finishing off a passing combination with Gideon Payne. His second came in the 26th minute, dribbling the final defender before lashing his effort past the goalkeeper.
The third conversion came in the 76th minute, controlling a cross from the right side and thumping his effort into the back of the net.
Kester Jacobs got into the scoring act in the 83rd minute, racing onto a through pass from Leo Lovell inside the penalty area and placing his effort into the far corner.
The score line was completed two minutes later as Jamal Harvey netted, sprinting onto a through pass from Malcolm Miggins, before dribbling the goalkeeper and slotting into the empty net.
Meanwhile, Buxton United and traditional rival Victoria Kings battled to a 1-1 result. Shemar Fraser handed Buxton United the lead in the third minute compliments of a penalty conversion.
However, Clevon Barnwell earned his side a share of the spoils with a 89th minute conversion. The tournament continues March 27th with Santos battling Fruta Conquerors at the Georgetown Football Club [GFC] ground, Bourda from 19:00hrs.
