(Trinidad Express) The body found in Couva on Saturday has been identified.
It is that of 17-year-old Netanya Mohamdally who went missing on March 17 from her home in Chagua-nas.
Her relatives had reported her missing to police soon after she vanished that Sunday.
She had left home to visit her father who lived elsewhere.
Mohamdally worked with Pennywise in Cha-guanas.
An autopsy on Monday found that she died of chop wounds to the neck.
Mohamdally’s killing has outraged many on social media who say that “cry wolf’ victims who were running away from home, were the reason why real cases of abduction were not being taken seriously.
At around 10a.m. on Saturday, a body was found in a watercourse at Exchange Village, Couva.
The body was clad in a pair of short black tights, black vest, and tan coloured slippers.
There was the tattoo of a rose on the right side of the abdomen.
The publication of the description led a relative to confirm the identity at the Forensic Science Centre on Monday.
The autopsy was performed by pathologist Dr. Gajula.
