The East Coast Demerara edition of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Championship will officially commence April 12th at the Haslington Market Tarmac.
The registration process for the tournament commences today. It will conclude on April 3rd, with the playoff round scheduled for April 2nd at the Haslington Tarmac. Forms will be distributed shortly.
They are set to be available at the Guinness Bar location in Plaisance. Presently, eight teams have already sealed their places in the main draw following performances in the previous edition.
They are defending champion Uprising, Paradise-A, BV-A, Melanie-B, Buxton Diamond, Mahaica Determinators, Victoria Church Yard and Belfield Warriors.
According to an official release from the coordinators of the event, Three Peat Promotions, “All systems are currently being streamlined to ensure another smoothly coordinated event. The tournament has grown exponentially in popularity and is loved by the fans, players and communities at large and our aim is to produce a wonderful product that will continue to improve with each year.”
The correspondence further said, “The tournament is highly anticipated, as several teams have already shown their willingness to once again be a part of the phenomenon that is the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Championship. We anticipate an exciting and competitive tournament and we ask the respective communities to come out and support their teams in their bid to secure the coveted title.”
