The Stag Beer Futsal championships will officially commence today at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
In the opening match, Alexander Village will oppose Showstoppers at 20:00hrs with Stabroek Ballers tackling North Ruimveldt from 20:30hrs and Melanie opposing Sonny at 21:00hrs.
In the fourth clash, Gaza Squad will engage Buxton Diamond from 21:30hrs while Leopold Street will battle Agricola at 22:00hrs and Future Stars will lock horns with Hustlers from 22:30hrs.
In the final two matches, Bent Street will match skills with Young Ballers at 23:00hrs and Back Circle will take aim at Stevedore from 23:30hrs.
The tournament will continue on Tuesday at the same venue with another round of matches.
The 11-day event will feature 32 teams battling in an initial group stage format featuring eight groups of four teams.
Upon the completion of the group stage, the top two teams in each round will advance to the final. The other playing dates are April 2nd, 4th, 6th, 9th, 11th, 13th, 16th, 18th, 20th, with the final pegged for the 27th.
Group-A comprises Sparta Boss, Norton Street, Kingston and Broad Street, while group-B features Gold is Money, Ansa McAl, Spot-7 and Silver Bullets.
Group-C consists of North East La Penitence, Fearless, Albouystown-B and Tiger Bay, with Sophia, California Square, Ol Skool Ballers and Germans making up group-D.
Leopold Street, Agricola, Gaza Squad and Buxton Diamond will feature in group-E, while group-F contains Future Stars, Hustlers, Melanie and Sonny.
Group-G is made up of Bent Street, Alexander Village, Showstoppers and Young Ballers, while Back Circle, Stevedore, Stabroek Ballers and North Ruimveldt comprise group-H.
