Back Circle, Future Stars, Melanie and Bent Street secured convincing wins when the Stag Beer Futsal Championship resumed on Thursday at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
Back Circle downed Stabroek Ballers by a 2-0 score line. Selwyn Williams scored in the 20th and 22nd minute.
Future Stars crushed Street Vybz 5-2. Rondell Bowman netted twice in the seventh and 24th minute, with Keron Solomon and Kevin Cummings scoring in the eighth and ninth minute each.
An own goal in the 18th minute added to the score-line. For the losers, Wendell Austin and Jamal Delph scored in the 16th and 24th minute apiece.
Meanwhile, Melanie mauled relative newcomer Stevedore 7-0. Travis Bowman bagged a double in the 18th and 20th minute.
Adding goals were Chevin John, Jermain Clarke, Odel Gulliver, Julian Bamfield and Ryan Seals in the fifth, 11th, 12th, 13th and 23rd minute respectively.
Similarly, Bent Street dismantled Alexander Village 6-0. Sheldon Holder copped a brace in the 10th and 20th minute, whilst Adrian Aaron, Daniel Wilson, Clive Nobrega and Pernell Schultz scored in the third, 14th, 23rd and 24th minute each.
In other results, Showstoppers and Young Ballers battled to a 1-1 draw. Stephon Jupiter scored for Showstoppers in the seventh minute, while Joseph Mackenzie equalized in the 24th minute.
Also, Hustlers defeated Sonny via walkover. The tournament continues today at the same venue with another round of matches.
California Square will oppose Germans at 20:00hrs, with Silver Bullets taking aim at Ansa McAl from 20:30hrs.
In the third clash, Sophia battles Ol Skool Ballers from 21:00hrs, while Norton Street oppose Broad Street at 21:30hrs and Fearless engage Tiger Bay from 22:00hrs.
In the final two matches, North East La Penitence tackle Albouystown from 10:30hrs and Gold is Money matches skills with Spot-7 from 23:00hrs.
