A minibus conductor, who was charged in 2017 with stabbing a schoolboy to the neck with a pair of scissors, was on Wednesday sentenced to four months in jail for the crime.
The charge against Miguel Isaac alleged that on November 9th, 2017, at Stabroek Market, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Odaffi Taylor with the intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.
Isaac, who had denied the allegation, was found guilty by Georgetown magistrate Annette Singh at the conclusion of his trial. He was then sentenced to four months in jail.
It was the prosecutor’s case that on the day in question, Taylor was standing at the Kitty bus park where Isaac stopped him from entering the bus he was operating in at the time.
An argument subsequently ensued between the two, resulting in the accused stabbing the teen to his neck with a pair of scissors.
