During Tony’s Auto Spares’ official handing over of a Toyota Passo, which was the grand prize of the company’s ‘Driving Star’ promotion, it was revealed that the winner has donated the car to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON)

The winner of the grand prize was Bhoopsingh Jagmohan. The official handing over of the car was held yesterday at Tony’s Auto Spares’ Light Street branch, and although Jagmohan was not present at the event, a representative of ISKCON, Chaitram Dhanesar, was present and informed the gathering that the recently migrated Jagmohan, who is a senior member of the Hare Krishna movement, had donated the car to the group.

Dhanesar expressed gratitude both to Jagmohan and the company, before informing attendees that the car will aid in transport of members to and from functions and will only be used for temple-related purposes.

Prior to learning that Jagmohan donated the car, Marketing Consultant of Tony’s Auto Spares, Raul Couchman, expressed hope that the car will benefit a lot of persons. After learning of the generosity of Jagmohan, a visibly surprised Couchman commented, “Well this is better than we hoped for.”

Dhanraj Persaud, Hakim Ally and Zahier Ally, all winners of hampers filled with car-related items, were also present at the event to collect their prizes.

These winners were randomly selected by customers and employees of the company, along with observers, who were present at the company’s La Ressouvenir branch, to witness the final drawing of the winners in March.

According to Couchman, the company will be launching a new promotion this September. “We have more cars to give away,” he revealed.

During the course of the ‘Driving Star’ promotion, which lasted for seven months, the company had at least three winners of giveaway prizes each month. A few of those prizes were televisions, tyres, rims and hampers.
