The Region Two administration has completed $6 million worth of rehabilitative works on the Lot 5 Farmer’s Access Road at Devonshire Castle on the Essequibo Coast, a 1,500 metre road upgrade expected to improve the livelihoods of 100 farmers.
A release from the Department of Public Information (DPI) related that the entirety of the roadway spans 10,000 metres and separates two trenches and their adjacent rice farms.
The recent works, apart from transforming the road from its once “disastrous state”, have enabled the construction of several cross-dam links to facilitate farmer’s access.
