University of Guyana (UG) all-rounder Keon Roberts on Sunday last produced a fine display with both ball and bat to spur Rising Star into the final of Amreith Rai Memorial T20 tournament as his side defeated Canal #2 Sports Club by 21 runs.
The high-scoring semi-final saw Rising Star winning the toss and electing to bat. They then piled on 182-7 from their allotted overs with Travis Cato hammering four maximums and three fours in a top score of 43. He was supported by Roberts who contributed 40, inclusive of two sixes and three fours. Marvin Cheong (37) also played a handy knock.
Narindra Persaud (2-24) was the pick of bowlers for the Canal-side who only managed to reach 161-9 when their allotted overs expired with Shane Persaud (3-13) and Roberts (2-17) combining to dismiss half the side and deliver a final berth for Rising Stars who will face Zeeburg Sports Club in the final on Sunday in Meten-Meer-Zorg.
