A mason was remanded to prison yesterday after being charged with snatching a woman’s phone as she was heading to her car from a city nightclub.
Tyron McCloud, 19, denied the charge, which was read by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in a Georgetown court.
The charge alleges that on April 18th, at Main Street, Georgetown, McCloud stole a Samsung cellphone, valued $170,000, from the person of Charmalaine English.
According to Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield, on the day in question, as English was proceeding to her car from the Palm Court nightclub, McCloud, who was standing in the vicinity of the car, grabbed her phone, which she had in her hand, as she passed him.
