The Guyana Power and Light (GPL) is inviting persons to apply to supply consultancy services for site supervision of their Power Utility Upgrade Programme (PUUP), having received financing from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to cover the funding shortfall to satisfy the programme’s targets.
According to an advertisement in the Sunday Stabroek, the power company is inviting eligible persons to submit an expression of interest for consultancy services, whose task will include the site supervision of the PUUP Lot C works, and the design, specifications, preparation and support for the tendering and site supervision for the works related to the Kingston and Vreed-en-Hoop substations, during the implementation period, October 19, 2019 to August 30, 2022.
The PUUP is part of GPL’s development and expansion for the period 2014 to 2021 and aims to reduce the overall losses in the power system. The consultant will be selected in according with the procedures set out in the Guidelines for the Procurement of Consultant Services under IsDB project financing April 2019, the ad said.
