When the Inner Wheel Club of Georgetown hosts its Annual Hat Show and Garden Party on Saturday at the Promenade Gardens, three new prizes will be up for grabs.
The event has traditionally featured a hat competition for adults and children in the three categories: elegant, topical and original. However, in a press release issued yesterday by Sinikka Henry, the Secretary of the Inner Wheel Club of Georgetown, it was announced that this year there will be additional trophies: The Cicely Harding Prize and the Sheila King Prize, as well as a group prize for which a group or a family may enter.
It was noted that the prizes named after Harding and King are intended to honour them as up to last year they regularly participated in the competition, “displayed unique hats and delighted the crowd with their cheerful performances.”
